Concord’s Busiest Furniture Store – Outside of Concord, NH

If asked to name a local furniture store,  Concord, New Hampshire residents would likely say Harris Family Furniture. After all, we have been serving the residents of Concord for over two decades. However, our store is actually located in the sleepy little town next door called Chichester. Regardless, Harris Family Furniture’s Route 4 store has earned a reputation as the go-to place “in Concord” due to our tremendous selection, competitive prices, and friendly service.

Moving South

When we opened our first store in Plymouth in 1965, we noticed that the choices for excellent furniture buying experiences were limited throughout most of the state. The Harris family capitalized on this situation by strategically opening stores in locations that could serve all of New Hampshire. First we set up another store in Laconia to cater to the communities throughout the Lakes region. Finally, our Chichester store brought a family-based shopping experience to the residents of central and southern New Hampshire.

Quality Service, the New Hampshire Way

Validating this claim, the University of New Hampshire’s Center for Family Business named Harris Family Furniture its family business of the year in 2014. Treating all employees and customers like family has a lot to do with winning the award. During the awards ceremony, Amanda Grappone Osmer, CEO of Grappone Automotive Group, credited Harris employees for keeping the business successful. “I think when you’re a family business it makes sense for you to treat everybody as family,” Grappone said. Chichester store manager Will Harris shared his own thoughts. “It’s a testament to 49 years of hard work, by generations of Harris’s and employees who didn’t just do their jobs, but instead lived up to an ideal, a shared vision of the way things should be done.”
